Grandma’s Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

Wet ingredients:

2 cups sugar

2 cups brown sugar

2 cups peanut butter

1 1/2 cup butter

5 eggs, well beaten

1 tbsp vanilla

Dry ingredients:

5 1/2 cups flour

3 tsp baking soda

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350f.

Cream sugars, peanut butter, and butter with a hand mixer or stand mixer. Cream until fluffy and smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla. You can beat all the eggs together first for easy incorporation.

Add flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and combine well.

Scoop out and shape into balls and place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Using a fork, press down the middle of each ball, then gently press each side to give it the traditional peanut butter cookie pattern.

Optional: sprinkle each cookie with sugar.

Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges.

Remove and place on a cookie rack or parchment paper to cool.
