Due to recent increase in prices from our herbal and floral supplier, we have had to increase the price of all our herbal based products. Thank you for your understanding through these changing economic times.

Many of the herbs/roots/berries/florals we use are purchased from a local apothecary here in Colorado. They partner with organic herb growing farms in Oregon, California as well as Colorado, so we can bring you organic and clean dried herbs. When we need to go elsewhere, we make sure we purchase herbs from trusted companies that offer herbs with the components we strive to provide (listed below). This blend is packaged in a ziploc food safe bag that will keep your herbs fresh longer and keep air, dust and other unwanted items out.

It’s easy to use! Just take a small amount and scatter it in the nesting boxes, usually after you have cleaned and replaced the bedding. A small amount will do, as the chickens will go in and rake it around, which will release the sweet smell of the herbal blend. It will get mixed in with their shavings, hay, sand or whatever else you use for bedding – but will still do it’s job.

* Please note that herbal nesting box blends are not proven to increase egg production, although some say they have seen increase with laying. We, personally, have not seen laying increase due to the herbs. Plenty of sunshine, clean water, fresh air and food, along with a healthy immune system – these things will bring about healthy laying habits in your flock.

** What’s the difference between our herbs and many others for sale? I won’t make a blanket statement regarding all herbs and florals for sale, but many you find will be very low in price, but most likely that will also reflect the quality of the herb as well. Many bulk herbs that are not certified organic or kosher tend to have very little aroma and are most likely very old. At Vintage Life Farm, we truly care about the ingredients we use, personally, and those we use in our products for others to use. Our bodies are valuable and what we put in them should reflect our respect for them. The herbs we sell are high quality, tested and either USDA organic or certified kosher. We must remember that many herbs are sourced from other countries who do not use United States testing, but they do have their own rules and regulations in place to ensure that their herbs meet quality standards, are non irradiated and not treated with ETO. Our prices may be higher than others, but that will reflect a fresh and safe product for you! We do add a small shipping fee so we can price the herbs at comparable prices for the weight.
