Ingredients
Method
- Using a double broiler (or a saucepan with glass bowl on top), heat the oil, aloe, and beeswax over med-low heat until all the beeswax is melted.
- Remove from heat and while using a blender (whisk attachment) or an immersion blender, begin blending the mixture. You will do this off and on as it is cooling, letting is “cool down” for a few minutes at first.
- Continue blending, scraping down the sides as needed, until it starts to thicken up. *Note: if you stop blending too soon, the water and oil will separate, so trust the process and blend until it starts solidifying and the color becomes opaque, and you no longer see “water bubbles” in the cream.
- Once you can tell everything is cohesive, you can stop blending consistently and then just blend every few minutes (breaks in between and scraping down sides) until it thickens up and has cooled.
- If you are adding any essential oils, you will add them here.
- When the blending process is complete, spoon into glass jars, label, and date. Any extra can be stored in a glass jar, with a tight lid, in the refrigerator.
Application:
- Apply to a clean face alone or under make-up.
- Using a small amount, massage into your face and décolletage in a circular motion.
- A little goes a long way! This is a faster absorbing lotion since you are using almond and/or apricot oil.
- Shelf life will vary on usage and storage. Keep out of direct heat and light and use clean hands when applying to avoid introducing bacteria to the jar. Can last up to 4 months without refrigeration.
