Cheesy Taco Mac
This Cheesy Taco Pasta combines seasoned ground beef, taco spices, and tender pasta, all smothered in melted cheese. Quick, creamy, and packed with bold taco flavors, it’s a perfect weeknight dinner that’s sure to please the whole family!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ounce packet taco seasoning or about 3 1/2 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup mild salsa or whatever heats suits you
- 8 ounces uncooked pasta
- 1 1/2 – 2 cups shredded Mexican-style cheese
- Optional toppings avocados, crushed tortilla chips, chopped cilantro, sour cream
Instructions
- Heat a large, deep skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, followed by the water, salsa, and pasta.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
- Keep an eye on the noodles to make sure the liquid doesn’t overcook and dry out.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheese.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper, if desired.
- Serve with optional toppings, if preferred.
