Cheesy Taco Mac

This Cheesy Taco Pasta combines seasoned ground beef, taco spices, and tender pasta, all smothered in melted cheese. Quick, creamy, and packed with bold taco flavors, it’s a perfect weeknight dinner that’s sure to please the whole family!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning or about 3 1/2 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup mild salsa or whatever heats suits you
  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cups shredded Mexican-style cheese
  • Optional toppings avocados, crushed tortilla chips, chopped cilantro, sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large, deep skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned.
  • Drain any excess grease.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning, followed by the water, salsa, and pasta.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
  • Cover and cook for about 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
  • Keep an eye on the noodles to make sure the liquid doesn’t overcook and dry out.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheese.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper, if desired.
  • Serve with optional toppings, if preferred.
