DIY Magnesium Oil

DIY Magnesium Oil

Here’s a mineral your body might need more of.

Do you have any of these symptoms?

Tired all the time. Can’t sleep. Muscle cramps. Restless legs. Anxiety. Stress. Headaches.

If you have one of these — or all of them — you might be dealing with low magnesium. Most women are and don’t even know it.

I make my own magnesium oil at home with just two ingredients — magnesium flakes and water — plus an optional essential oil. I spray it on the bottoms of my feet, back of my knees, and on my arms before bed.

I started making it for my restless legs and the difference has been real. Better sleep, less restlessness — it’s become a non-negotiable in my routine.

It’s also a great alternative to oral supplements.

DIY Magnesium Oil

This is a concentrated mineral solution made by dissolving magnesium chloride flakes or crystals in water – called "oil" due to it's slippery texture when rubbed onto wet skin.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup magnesium chloride flakes
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • * basically you just need equal amounts of each so whatever volume you are looking to end up with, adjust for that

Method

  1. Put magnesium flakes in a glass jar.
  2. Pour boiling water over flakes and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add essential oils (optional).
  4. Add to a spray bottle with a fine mist sprayer.
  5. HOW TO USE:
  6. Spray onto soles of feet, back of legs and knees, inside of the arms, on the abdomen, on the back of the neck, and anywhere there is pain, tension, or cramping.
  7. *Never spray on your face, eyes, open cuts, broken skin, or freshly shaved areas (as it will sting).
  8. *A soft tingling or itchy sensation is common when starting out and often fades as your body gets used to the mineral or as your magnesium levels improve. This is different than stinging on open skin.

Notes

*store in a cool, dark place out of direct heat and sunlight.
