Sweet Cream Boba Tea

A creamy, lightly sweet tea layered with chewy boba pearls—fun to sip and simple to make at home.
Servings: 2 12 ounce

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water divided
  • 1 black tea bag or loose-leaf equivalent
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup boba pearls
  • ½ –¾ cup milk per serving
  • ¼ –½ cup brewed black tea per serving
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Brew the tea
  2. Heat 2 cups of water until just below boiling. Pour over the black tea and steep. Set aside.
  3. Make the brown sugar syrup
  4. In a small saucepan, combine ½ cup water and ½ cup brown sugar. Heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is gently simmering.
  5. Cook the boba pearls
  6. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the boba pearls and cook until they float to the surface.
  7. Remove and place them directly into the brown sugar syrup. Let them sit to absorb the flavor.
  8. Prepare the salted cream
  9. In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup heavy cream with ½ teaspoon salt. Set aside.
  10. Assemble the drink
  11. Add ice to two glasses – about half way
  12. Add ½–¾ cup milk to a glass
  13. Spoon in some of the boba and brown sugar syrup (adjust to taste)
  14. Pour in ¼–½ cup brewed black tea
  15. Top with the salted cream
  16. Mix and enjoy
  17. Stir gently before drinking.
